Gills goalkeeper sidelined after car crash
Gillingham goalkeeper Simon Royce will be out for a minimum of four weeks with injuries sustained in a car crash.
Gills boss Mark Stimson confirmed his first-choice keeper had sustained significant damage to his knee in an accident last week.
"We've had the news of his scan, and it's not that good. He will be out for a minimum of four weeks," he told the club's
official website.
"After that we'll have to assess it again so that's not good news. The knee is the problem; he's got a little bit of a tear around the cartilage area and around the ligament.
"His neck and back is in a bad way too but that will probably heal up before the knee. It's a minimum of three to four weeks and then we'll see how we go with the rehab side after that."
