Posh winger optimistic of chances in League One

Peterborough United winger George Boyd is raring to go for the new season following his return from Nottingham Forest. The 24-year-old spent the latter part of the last campaign on loan at Forest, but will compete with the Posh in League One next term. Boyd believes Peterborough have what it takes to bounce back to the Championship at the first time of asking, and is pleased with the current crop of players at London Road. "I am glad to be back and raring to go," he told the club's official website. "It didn't work out at Nottingham Forest and I am looking forward to getting back on the training field and hopefully impressing the new manager. "I am confident with the players we have we can mount a serious push for promotion. "The new manager has brought in some good players and they will complement the players we have already who have proved they are good enough to get out of this division. "For me personally, I am a Peterborough player, I will give 100 per cent when I train and when I play. I am not one to make a fuss and be problematic. "I expect to be here for the season unless the chairman or Barry Fry tell me otherwise and I am excited about what we can achieve." Peterborough kick-off their campaign at home to Bristol Rovers on 7th August, and travel to Bournemouth the following week.
