IRON STEAM IN FOR CROUDSON

SCUNTHORPE UNITED have eased their goalkeeping crisis by signing young Grimsby Town shot-stopper Steve Croudson on loan.

United manager Brian Laws has moved to secure the services of Croudson after learning that first-choice goalkeeper Tommy Evans will be out-of-action for up to eight weeks.

The highly rated 21-year-old keeper has been unable to force his way into the Grimsby first-team due to the magnificent recent form of Welshman Danny Coyne, and he will be keen to get some much needed senior experience under his belt.

It is expected that he will be immediately thrust into the Scunthorpe side to face Bristol Rovers on Saturday.
