Championship clubs on alert over midfielder
Skysports.com understands Scunthorpe risk losing highly-rated midfielder Josh Wright on a free transfer this summer.
Wright, who signed from Charlton in 2009, has a clause in his contract allowing him to leave Glanford Park if the club suffered relegation from the Championship.
Scunthope are keen to keep Wright as they plan on building a side capable of winning promotion next season, but they can not afford to keep him on his current deal.
As a result, the Iron would also miss out any compensation for Wright if he leaves this summer.
A number of Championship sides are thought to be keen on signing Wright and news of his availability on a free makes him even more of an attractive proposition for a host of clubs.
