Bristol City vs Leeds preview
Friday 8 March 2019 12:43, UK
Bristol City goalkeeper Niki Maenpaa is a major doubt for the home game against Leeds.
Maenpaa sustained a calf injury in last week's draw at Preston and was replaced by Max O'Leary, who could start, while New Zealand goalkeeper Stefan Marinovic, signed this week, could be included in the squad.
Lee Johnson has no major new injury worries and must decide whether to hand teenage forward Antoine Semenyo his first start. Goalkeeper Frank Fielding (hand) and midfielder Korey Smith (knee) remain long-term absentees.
Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed he will name an unchanged starting line-up following last week's home win against West Brom. Teenage winger Jack Clarke remains sidelined due to his recent illness, but is scheduled to return to action with the under-23s next week.
Defenders Barry Douglas and Gaetano Berardi are among those pushing for recalls after recently recovering from injury. Striker Kemar Roofe and Adam Forshaw (both knee) remain sidelined.
Opta stats
Bristol City have won just of their 13 Championship meetings against Leeds since 2010-11 (D2 L10), a 1-0 win in September 2016.
Leeds have won four of their last six league visits to Ashton Gate against Bristol City (D1 L1).
Since August 2010, Bristol City have lost more league matches against Leeds than any other opponent (10).
Leeds have dropped fewer points from winning positions than any other team in the Championship this season (3), while they've won the most points from trailing positions when playing away from home (13).
Since the start of last season, Famara Diedhiou has scored 24 goals in the Championship - no other current Bristol City player has reached double figures for goals in this period.
Mateusz Klich has scored more away league goals than any other Leeds player this season, with six of his seven strikes in 2018-19 coming on the road.
Prutton's prediction
It may have just been a point for Bristol City at Preston last Saturday, but Deepdale is a tough place to go and it was important for them to end their run of defeats as swiftly as possible.
Leeds answered their critics with an absolute bang against West Brom. They were superb last Friday night and will be feeling confident again heading to Ashton Gate. Away win for me.
David Prutton predicts: 1-2 (17/2 with Sky Bet)
