Bristol City's new manager Steve Coppell has hinted that Paul Hartley is likely to leave the Robins this summer due to homesickness.
The former Celtic and Hearts ace's family remains in Scotland and he frequently travelled between the countries last season attempting to combine home life and football.
Coppell has been speaking with Hartley over the summer and while he still has one year left on his City contract, he does not believe the 33-year-old will stay at Ashton Gate.
City's new boss does not believe it is fair on the veteran midfielder and does not expect the Scotland international to be short of offers.

"I've had a number of chats with Paul. His family are up in the Scotland and he was back and forth to see them all last season," explained Coppell.
"He is homesick and, in an ideal world, he'd be playing his football in Scotland - that's his point of view and I respect that.
"He had a very good year for this club last season, but it's asking a lot for him to be making that journey over and over again for another season.
"I'm anticipating that he won't be here. I think he's too good a player not to be picked up by a club north of the border."
