St Johnstone boss to replace Millen

Skysports.com understands Derek McInnes is poised to be named the new manager of Bristol City. Bristol City are thought to have agreed a compensation package with St Johnstone for McInnes' services with the former Rangers man set to sign a three-and-a-half year deal with the Championship strugglers. The St Johnstone boss is believed to have beaten off former Barnsley manager Mark Robins for the role at Ashton Gate. The 40-year-old held talks with Bristol City on Monday about replacing Keith Millen and the Scot is thought to have impressed the club's hierarchy. McInnes, who took over at McDiarmid Park in November 2007 following the departure of Owen Coyle, has guided St Johnstone to fifth spot in the SPL this season after leading them to promotion in the 2008/09 season. City are currently bottom of the Championship and McInnes will take charge for the first time for the home clash with Birmingham.
