Bristol City vice-chairman Jon Lansdown has praised manager Steve Cotterill after the club secured promotion to the Sky Bet Championship.

Tuesday's 6-0 victory over Bradford City lifted the Robins 10 points clear at the top of the table going into this weekend's match against Coventry City.

Victory in that match will see the championship crown housed at Ashton Gate for the next 12 months and Lansdown is in no doubt where the credit for the success lies.

Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ he said: "Steve had a real turnaround of the club since he came in.

"The relegation and start of last year was not a memorable time and it's those lows that make you enjoy the highs more.

Lansdown added the club are determined to win the title after a long wait having already won the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

“They’ve performed well all season, the title is very much our aim. We haven’t won a league for 60 years, it’s very important for us.

“If we can get two trophies this year it will be absolutely fantastic.”
