Nottingham Forest defender Jack Hobbs hopes to resume full training next week as he steps up his return from injury.

Hobbs has been out since suffering a hamstring tear during the Reds' thrilling 4-4 draw with Blackpool at Bloomfield Road on February 14.

The central defender's progress has been hampered by a handful of injuries since his arrival on the banks of the River Trent from Hull in the summer of 2014, but Hobbs is now looking to put his problems behind him and string together an extended run of games.

"I'm well on with my rehab and back out on the training pitch with the physios," he told the club's official website.

"I should hopefully be joining in with training next week and then pushing to be in the squad.

"I've been doing a lot of foundation and stability work and I'm now hoping to stay fit until the end of the season.

"I want to get a full summer under my belt to build a really good platform for myself to push on in the next campaign. I've missed a few pre-seasons now, which hasn't been helpful."
