Striker makes season-long loan switch
Blackpool boss Ian Holloway has hailed the loan signing of Luke Varney from Derby County.
As revealed by skysports.com earlier this week, Blackpool had lined up a shock move for Varney as they look to finally bolster their striking options.
Varney has agreed a season-long loan at Bloomfield Road and the 27-year-old could make his debut against Fulham on Saturday.
Blackpool have the option of signing Varney on a permanent basis and Holloway believes he will prove a valuable addition to his squad.
"He is a great lad, he has got some pace and I think he'll play really well in a 4-3-3 formation," said Holloway.
Holloway believes he can revive Varney's career at the top level.
"I think he will just slot straight in to our system and hopefully I can get him going again.
"He is a fantastic lad off the field and even at Sheffield Wednesday last season he got 11 goals for them."
