Blackpool have signed left-back Joan Oriol from Spanish side Osasuna, as manager Jose Riga looks to bolster his options ahead of the Championship kick-off on August 9.
The 27-year-old has signed a one-year deal which is subject to international clearance and includes an option for a further 12 months at Bloomfield Road.
Oriol, who previously made 50 league appearances for Villarreal, completed a medical on Friday and was in attendance for the pre-season game against Burnley on Saturday.
The Spaniard’s arrival will come as a welcome boost to beleaguered Blackpool fans, who staged a protest against club chairman Karl Oyston as their team lost Saturday's friendly 1-0.
Blackpool, who had just 13 registered players entering the game, are scheduled to begin their league campaign with a visit to Nottingham Forest.
