Yeovil vs Newport preview

Yeovil begin life after Darren Way when they host Newport in Sky Bet League Two.

Way was fired in the wake of the loss at MK Dons last weekend and Neale Marmon is in caretaker charge.

Marmon will assess Rhys Browne (hamstring) and Alex Pattison (back) will be monitored after missing out against the Dons. The Glovers have lost 10 of their last 12 games to sit two points above the drop zone.

Full-back Tyler Forbes has joined National League outfit Salford on loan until the end of the season. Defender Fraser Franks has been forced to end his playing career on medical advice due to a heart issue.

Opta stats

Yeovil Town have won two of their three home games against Newport County in League Two, but did lose this fixture 0-2 in March last season.

Newport's 6-0 defeat at home to Yeovil in the reverse meeting between the two sides in September 2018 ended their three-match winning run over the Glovers; the result remains their heaviest Football League defeat since a 0-6 loss at Bolton in April 1988, and heaviest ever on home soil.
