Oldham Athletic have made former Blackburn midfielder David Dunn their interim manager following the sacking of Darren Kelly.
The 35-year-old was brought to the club as a player by Kelly during the summer but will now move into the manager's office.
Kelly was sacked on Saturday evening following Oldham's 5-1 home defeat to Peterborough United, who are themselves without a permanent manager.
The Latics are currently in 19th place in Sky Bet League One with seven points from seven matches.
Former Carlisle and York defender Kelly, 36, was hired to his first senior managerial post in May as Oldham sprang a surprise with a left-field appointment.
Kelly admitted he would have to prove himself to supporters upon taking the position but after securing one win from nine games, he did little to win them over.
Dunn's first assignment as Oldham boss will be supervising next weekend's trip to Doncaster, with games against Wigan, Port Vale and leaders Gillingham to follow.
