Spanish full-back hands Swans timely fitness boost

Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Angel Rangel is to hand Swansea a timely boost by returning from injury ahead of schedule. The Spanish full-back was originally set to be sidelined until the New Year with an ankle problem picked up against Aston Villa at the end of November. He has, however, made rapid progress in his rehabilitation and is set to come back into contention for Wednesday's trip to Everton. Rodgers has welcomed Rangel's return, with the Swans having built their success this season on a settled and reliable defensive unit.

Fitness

"Angel Rangel comes back into the fold," said Rodgers. "He has been working well and trained with the group. "His fitness is very strong and he's a natural athlete. "His injury has cleared up and there has been no reaction in the last week or so."
