March to sign new one-year contract

Sky Sports understands Swansea starlet Kurtis March has agreed a second year pro deal at the Liberty Stadium. March, who signed his first pro deal last summer, has been rewarded for his progress with a 12-month extension. The talented midfielder was snapped up by Swansea from bitter rivals Cardiff in a big-money move three years ago. March, who has played for Wales Under 18s and Under 19s, is highly-regarded within the corridors of power at Swansea and is tipped to push for a place in the first team in the near future. New Swansea boss Michael Laudrup will cast an eye over March in pre-season as he looks to bring through some younger players at the club into the first-team picture. If March does not break into the first team this season, Swansea are expected to loan him out so that he can some valuable first-team experience elsewhere.
