Bury striker Hallam Hope has extended his loan spell at Carlisle until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old initially joined United on a one-month loan deal at the end of October and has made six appearances so far.

Hope scored the goal which sank Plymouth in the FA Cup in November and has now returned to action having recovered from an ankle injury picked up during that game.

Carlisle manager Keith Curle told the club website: "Hallam is still working his way back but he has shown us in recent games that he adds to what we have in the squad.

"He still has some way to go, but he's an excellent athlete and he's not too far away from being a really effective player again.

"We like what he brings to the dressing room and it's good that we'll be able to continue his development here with us for the rest of this season."
