Carlisle striker Jabo Ibehre has turned down a new contract and will leave the club when his current deal expires in June.

The 34-year-old has been in prolific form since joining the Cumbrians from Colchester in June 2015, scoring 31 goals in 85 appearances in all competitions, which also included five in his last six matches of the current campaign.

Ibehre's 12 league goals this season helped Carlisle reach the Sky Bet League Two play-offs before they fell to a 6-5 aggregate defeat to Exeter in the semi-finals.

A statement on the club's website said: "He leaves Brunton Park with the very best wishes of everyone at the club."
