Skysports.com understands Doncaster are poised to sign St Etienne defender Mustapha Bayal Sall.
Doncaster have forged a partnership with the French club to enable them to sign some of their players and Bayal Sall could be the first of several arrivals.
Bayal Sall is well down the pecking order at St Etienne and the Ligue 1 side are prepared to loan him out.
The Senegal international will add options to Dean Saunders' squad as he can play anywhere across the backline.
Bayal Sall, who has won 16 caps for his country, will link up with Senegal team-mate El Hadji Diouf at the Keepmoat Stadium.
