Crewe chairman John Bowler open to Football League changes

Crewe chairman John Bowler believes people should be open-minded about change when it comes to the proposals to restructure the Football League.
The Football League has planned the introduction of a fifth division in a radical shake-up of the English club game. The governing body wants four divisions of 20 teams below the Premier League by the 2019-20 season.
That would mean eight more clubs added to the current structure, possibly from the National League, but the idea of Premier League clubs fielding B teams has also been mooted.
Bowler told the club's official website: "I think credit is due to (Football League chief executive) Shaun Harvey for being brave enough to put forward an outline of a possible way forward.
"People have to accept it in that way and then then sit and talk about it. There is no rush, we have to address all the problems.
"You only really get to the guts of the things when you sit down with an open mind and talk about it. I can't believe there aren't changes that ought to be made.
"What we have to do is be brave enough to encourage people to make suggestions and be open-minded enough to sensibly talk about them so we get the right solution.
"When you have a brand which has been running for as long as this has been you should stop from time to time and look at it.
"Are we positioned in the right way? Are we running it the right way? What are the problems, what are the issues?
"To say that is all coupled with discussions with the FA and the Premier League - to me that is all good stuff."
