Midfielders Chris Eagles and Callum Guy could make their Port Vale debuts in the Sky Bet League One home clash with MK Dons on Saturday.

The pair joined this week until the end of the season, Eagles after leaving Accrington and Guy on loan from Derby.

Jak Alnwick (ankle and suspected fractured cheekbone) and Remie Streete (hamstring) are both set to miss out after coming off in Saturday's FA Cup loss at Huddersfield. While Miguel Santos, who came on for Alnwick, has since left by mutual consent, Ryan Boot is back from his loan at Macclesfield and looks most likely be Vale's starting goalkeeper on Saturday.

JJ Hooper could also come in, with his loan at Northampton having concluded, and Dan Turner is available again after being cup-tied at the weekend. Paulo Tavares is an injury doubt and Sam Hart's loan at Vale from Liverpool has been brought to an end.

Paul Downing could be back in the Dons squad after missing the FA Cup defeat to Brighton through injury.

The defender resumed training on Thursday and if he can train again on Friday without any ill effects then he will be back in contention.

Forward Dean Bowditch remains on course for a comeback in early February as he continues to make steady progress in his recovery from a calf injury.
