Joe Lolley has committed his long-term future to Huddersfield by penning a contract extension.

The 23-year-old's new deal runs until the summer of 2019, while the Terriers have a further one-year option on top of that.

Lolley was sent out on loan this term, during previous boss Chris Powell's regime, but has become an integral part of David Wagner's side since the German arrived in Yorkshire.

"Joe is a very good talent - he has good mobility, he's technically very good and he can make a difference in a game one-on-one," Wagner told Huddersfield's official website.

"His fitness was not good and this is what we had to work on. We still do, because he still isn't where I'd like to have him.

"However, he is a very interesting player and is very open-minded - he is one of the players who tries to bring on the pitch what we want.

"We're here to help the players get better step by step and Joe is doing that.
