Bury have captured Huddersfield Town left-back Joe Skarz on a two-year deal to bolster their promotion push.
The 20-year-old full-back has moved to Gigg Lane after successfully completing his medical on Monday.
The defender is no stranger to League Two, having spent the second half of last season on loan at Shrewsbury, making 20 appearances.
After being placed on the transfer list by the Terriers, Skarz, the Football League Apprentice of the year for 2007, has now joined the Shakers as Alan Knill revamps his squad for the season ahead.
The move sees Skarz bring to an end a 12-year association with the Terriers after he joined Town's Academy as an eight-year-old.
Debut
He made his first-team debut in the FA Cup clash with Scunthorpe United in November 2006 and went on to make 71 starts for the Terriers, with a further 10 substitute appearances, scoring one goal.
Huddersfield chief executive Nigel Clibbens told the club's
official website: "The deal we have agreed with Bury is excellent for all parties.
"Joe has the opportunity to play regular first team football, Bury have a player who has the potential to develop and if that happens, Huddersfield Town will benefit financially."
Town manager Lee Clark added: "I'd like to thank Joe for all his hard work during my tenure at the club and wish him the best of luck at Bury."
