Bournemouth's Jack Simpson signs contract extension

Bournemouth defender Jack Simpson has signed a new deal which runs until the summer of 2021.

The 21-year-old, who has been with the club since the age of eight, became the first Bournemouth academy graduate to start in the Premier League last season in the 4-0 defeat at Manchester City.

Simpson has played in three first-team games this season, all in the Carabao Cup, where he has helped Bournemouth reach the quarter-finals - they face Chelsea on December 19.

"At the start of September they told me they wanted to give me an extension on what I already had, I was delighted about that," Simpson told the club's website.
