Defender Jamie Grimes is to sign for Cheltenham, the Sky Bet League Two club have announced.

Grimes will join on a one-year deal on July 1 after his contract with National League outfit Dover, for whom he was captain, comes to an end.

Cheltenham boss Gary Johnson said on the club's official website: "I'm very pleased to have secured Jamie's services after several attempts to sign him last season.

"He comes well recommended from players at our club who have played with him and staff who have worked with him.

"He's a very good defender with good experience, a centre half that is very tall, very strong and is another leader for our squad."
