Cheltenham v Torquay preview

Image: Yates: No new worries

Cheltenham boast an almost fully-fit squad for their fourth meeting of the season with Torquay.

Duff the only absentee; Buckle hopes to welcome back Smith

Cheltenham boast an almost fully-fit squad for their fourth meeting of the season with fellow strugglers Torquay, who hope to welcome back Adam Smith. Captain Shane Duff is the only player currently unavailable to Cheltenham manager Mark Yates as he nears the end of his lengthy recovery from an Achilles injury. The central defender last played for the Robins in the 5-4 reversal against Bradford in late August, but is hoping to take part in a reserve match within the next week or so. Otherwise, Yates has no injury or suspension problems to contend with as he looks to record back-to-back wins for the club for the first time since last April. Saturday's 2-0 victory over League Two play-off hopefuls Morecambe will have given the Robins a much-needed shot in the arm as they look to scramble away from the bottom two. But Cheltenham will have to improve their record against a Torquay side who have already beaten them 3-0 in the reverse fixture at Plainmoor, 3-1 in the FA Cup and 3-1 in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

Gulls team news

Torquay are hoping to welcome back on-loan Tottenham defender Smith for the basement clash. Full-back Smith, who has started on the right and left for Torquay, was ruled out of Friday's 1-1 draw at fifth-placed Rotherham United by illness, but is expected to return. United boss Paul Buckle will wait on the fitness of left-back Mo Camara, substituted at half time at Rotherham. Goalkeeper Michael Poke (groin) missed out at Rotherham, where his place went to Scott Bevan. United, who have beaten Cheltenham three times in three different competitions this season, are two points behind the Robins.
