Midfielder rewarded for 'positive attitude'
Midfielder Michael Pook has been named as Cheltenham Town's new captain following the departure of Shane Duff.
Town boss Mark Yates considered new signing Steve Elliott as a possible skipper but felt that the time was right for Pook.
He said: "Michael is well liked around the whole group and he's the right type. He is the captain for me.
"I could have easily given the captaincy to Steve Elliott but I don't think he needs the armband to be a leader because he will do that anyway.
"Pooky showed me what he was all about last season and when things weren't going right he always had a positive attitude and put in top performances."
