Stuart McCall has agreed a deal in principle to return to Bradford for a second spell as manager, according to Sky sources.
The Bantams have been searching for a new manager since Phil Parkinson left the club last week to take over at Bolton.
McCall made 395 appearances over two spells for Bradford after joining as a youth player in 1980.
He then went on to manage the club in 2007, taking charge of 133 games before leaving by mutual consent in 2010.
Spells at Motherwell and Rangers followed, but he is now set to return to the club where his career began, with his appointment expected to be confirmed next week when he returns from holiday.
