Chesterfield utility player Drew Talbot has urged his team-mates to put dreams of Johnstone's Paint Trophy glory to the back of their mind.
The Spireites face League Two high-fliers Swindon in the Wembley showpiece on 25th March.
However, before then they have important league clashes with MK Dons and Huddersfield as they look to secure their League One status.
Talbot says confidence has always been high within the club of avoiding relegation this season, with focus having never been allowed to waver.
"A lot of people wrote us off a few months ago, but we've always said that there will be a mini-league down there and that we can get ourselves out of it," he told
Sky Sports.
"Teams have come back into it and four points is very doable, especially when you look how many of the sides around us we play in the next few months.
"It is all about keeping in touch with the rest of the sides around us because we know that we've got a lot of tough games ahead, which will be very hard to pick up points from, but we've done quite well against them this season.
Surprise
"I've always said that it will go down to the wire this season, so we just need to pick up as many points as possible to give ourselves the best possible chance of finishing above the dotted line come May.
"These are the games that we tend to up our game in, plus a few of them are at home, which we tend to do better in, so hopefully we can surprise a few people.
"The sides fighting for promotion will come to our place and go for the win, so that might play in our hands because we like to hit teams on the break a bit.
"These are the games that everyone wants to play in because they are very big clubs and we will hope to pick up a few scalps along the way."
On a day out at Wembley, Talbot added: "I've not really given it much thought to be honest since we secured our place in the final at Oldham.
"From then on it has been concentrating on the league form, but I'm sure that it will start creeping into a couple of the lads' minds in the next couple of weeks.
"It is a big occasion and we'll remember it for the rest of our lives, but we can't afford to take our eye off the ball between now and then."
