Rotherham are on the verge of signing out-of-contract striker Luciano Becchio, with the Millers only waiting on international clearance.
The Argentinian has been training with the Championship club, where he spent six weeks on loan last season, for the last two weeks in a bid to earn a return to English football.
Becchio, 32, has been without a club since his summer release from Norwich, returning to his native South America, and has not played a first-team match since his loan spell at New York Stadium was cut short due to a heel injury in October 2014.
However, he has impressed Millers boss Neil Redfearn, who he knows from their time at Leeds together, and has agreed terms and passed a medical.
His move is expected to be completed in the next 48 hours.
Redfearn said: "Becchio has passed his medical and terms have been agreed so it's just a question of getting clearance for him.
"That's a big plus for us. It's extra competition up top."
