Rotherham have signed midfielder Chris Dawson following his departure from Leeds.

Dawson, released by Leeds on Tuesday, has put pen to paper on an 18-month contract and teams back up with former Leeds boss Neil Redfearn.

Rotherham have the option of an extra year on the 21-year-old.

"I'm really happy and looking forward to a new challenge and a fresh start and hopefully I can kick my career off here," Dawson told Rotherham's official website.

On his reunion with former Leeds academy coach Redfearn, Dawson added: "He puts a lot of belief in you and lets you know that you're a good player and at the same time when you're not playing well.

"He gets behind you and that's what you need as a young player so I'm really excited to be here."
