Reuben Reid's solitary strike was enough to earn Plymouth a 1-0 home win against Accrington and keep them top of League Two.

Striker Reid fired into the top corner in the 64th minute as Plymouth secured a fifth straight win in all competitions.

Portsmouth stay three points behind in second place after Matt Tubbs fired his fourth goal in two matches to secure them a 1-0 win at bottom club Newport, who remain without a win this season at Rodney Parade.

There was a bizarre incident in the game when officials had to ask over the tannoy if there was a qualified referee in the crowd. The ref James Adcock was injured, so the fourth official, Wayne Barratt, took over. A suitably qualified fan was eventually found to take the fourth official's place.
