WATCH: Fan replaces official at Newport County v Portsmouth

A fan from the stands took over as the fourth official during Portsmouth's win over Newport following an injury to the match referee

A fan had to replace the fourth official during today's Newport County v Portsmouth game in League Two after the match referee was injured.

Original referee James Adcock was replaced by his fourth official Wayne Barratt five minutes before the break, with an announcement over the tannoy at half-time to find a qualified official to take over on the sidelines. 

Mike Hurdle was the volunteer from the stands as Portsmouth beat bottom of the League Two table Newport County 1-0.
