Striker Scott Vernon has joined Grimsby on a two-year deal following a short trial, the club have announced.
The 32-year-old was a free agent after being released by Shrewsbury at the end of last season.
He is the latest in a string of new signings for the Mariners as they prepare for life in Sky Bet League Two following promotion from the National League.
Vernon began his career with Oldham and also played for Blackpool, Colchester, Northampton, Gillingham, Southend and Aberdeen, prior to joining the Shrews in 2014.
