Sean McCarthy and James Bittner have no fresh injury concerns as Newport start life without Warren Feeney at home to Stevenage.

Manager Feeney was sacked following the midweek defeat at Grimsby which left County bottom of Sky Bet League Two.

Coaches McCarthy and Bittner have taken caretaker charge and have a full squad to choose from with the exception of long-term absentee Lenell John-Lewis.

The pair are not expected to make too many changes, but Dan Butler could drop out with Darren Jones coming in at centre-half and Scott Bennett switched to left-back.

Stevenage manager Darren Sarll will be forced to make a number of changes for for Saturday's trip to Rodney Parade.

On-loan forward Tyler Walker, midfielder Tom Pett and defender Ronnie Henry are all expected to be unavailable after they were forced to miss training on Thursday.

Dean Wells remains on the sidelines and Sarll has drafted in former Birmingham City academy goalkeeper Callum Preston on non-contract terms after reserve keeper Chris Day picked up an injury.
