Craig Tanner's goal at Accrington gave Plymouth Argyle a 1-0 win and lifted them back to the top of Sky Bet League Two on Saturday.

Second-half substitute Tanner, on loan from Reading, fired Plymouth's winner in the 76th minute, after the visitors had been given a scare when Accrington midfielder Seamus Conneely's shot hit a post.

Carlisle sit second after a 2-1 home win against Yeovil extended their unbeaten league run to five matches.

Shaun Brisley's first goal of the season and Charlie Wyke's header gave Carlisle a 2-0 half-time lead before Nathan Smith's second-half header hauled Yeovil back into it.

Mandeville curled home his sixth goal in his last six league games from 30 yards as Darren Ferguson's side bounced back from last week's defeat at Plymouth. The later wins for Plymouth and Carlisle nudged Doncaster down to third.

Portsmouth stay fourth after being held to a goalless draw by Hartlepool at Fratton Park.

Stevenage registered their fourth straight league win on the road with a 2-1 success at Barnet. 

Dale Gorman gave Stevenage a half-time lead and although John Akinde's 47th-minute penalty, after he had been fouled by Fraser Franks, hauled Barnet level, Luke Wilkinson struck a 61st-minute winner.

Exeter made it back-to-back league wins for the first time this season by beating Mansfield 2-0 at home thanks to two goals from Ollie Watkins. Stags defender Malvind Benning was sent off in stoppage time for a second bookable offence.

Crawley also made it two straight league victories after a 3-1 home win against Newport. 

Joss Labadie equalised for Newport after James Collins had headed Crawley into an early lead, but Josh Yorwerth and Jimmy Smith both struck for the home side within the space of four minutes early in the second period.

Newport's Josh Sheehan's stoppage-time penalty, after he had been fouled by Mark Connolly, hit the crossbar.

Cheltenham halted a four-game losing run with a 2-1 win at 10-man Morecambe.

Morecambe's Alex Kenyon was shown a straight red card shortly before half-time for his challenge on Danny Wright, after Peter Murphy had given the hosts an early lead. Cheltenham's Billy Waters and Harry Pell scored a minute apart midway through the second half to turn the match around.
