League Two round-up: Jay Simpson equaliser keeps Orient on top

Jay Simpson kept Leyton Orient on top of Sky Bet League Two after his equaliser earned a 1-1 draw at Cambridge United.

On-loan Jacob Blyth fired Cambridge ahead after collecting a pass from Mickey Demetriou but Simpson raced on to a Mathieu Baudry through-ball to equalise in the 72nd minute.

A fourth-minute header from Plymouth Argyle striker Reuben Reid on his return after three games out injured and a fluke which cannoned in off Jake Jervis' back gave them a 2-1 win over Wycombe Wanderers.

Former Argyle winger Jason Banton scored Wycombe's reply at Adams Park, but Jervis knew little about Plymouth's winner, with the striker lying on the ground as the ball hit him and trickled over the line. 

The win moved Plymouth above Wycombe into second place in the table.

Oxford United's Danny Hylton had a penalty saved just before half-time as the U's lost 1-0 at Northampton Town despite the hosts playing the whole of the second half with just 10 men.

Sam Hoskins had already scored a header for the Cobblers after 23 minutes for his second goal of the season when Jason Taylor was sent off for conceding the penalty. Northampton 'keeper Adam Smith saved the spot-kick.

Portsmouth came from behind to beat 10-man Barnet 3-1 at Fratton Park and move into the top three.

Andy Yiadom slotted in the opening goal for the Bees but Conor Chaplin stabbed home an equaliser and Adam McGurk beat the offside trap to slot in a second.

Jamie Stephens' dismissal made life easier for Pompey and they added a third through Chaplin deep into injury-time.

Paul Mullin's penalty in the fourth minute of injury-time earned Morecambe a fourth straight win as they beat struggling Newport 2-1.

Eddie Nolan broke the deadlock for York but headed goals from Chris Whelpdale and Charlie Lee swung the game in Boro's favour.
