Crystal Palace midfielder Jake Gray will remain with Hartlepool United until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old, who joined Hartlepool on an initial one-month deal in November, will now stay with the League Two club for the remainder of the campaign after his loan was extended.

Gray scored twice against Leyton Orient in the second game of his loan spell and featured eight times in total for the Victoria Road side.

He signed a new two-year deal at Selhurst Park last summer and has played twice for Palace's first team in last season's Capital One Cup.

"Jake has shown his ability during the time he's been here so it's great that he'll be sticking around," said Pools boss Ronnie Moore.

"He gives us something different in that midfield area and could be a key player for us between now and the end of the season so I thank Crystal Palace for letting us keep him."
