Hartlepool United fans took on a Storm Trooper theme for their end-of-season fancy dress

Hartlepool United fans did their best to channel the force on Saturday after dressing up as storm troopers for their side's final game of the season at Plymouth.

The fans, who celebrated surviving in League Two last year by dressing up as Bob Marley, travelled to the west country knowing their side was safely ensconced in mid-table and were determined to enjoy their day in the Star Wars outfits.

It did them no good though, with the Dark Side losing 5-0 to promotion-chasing Argyle, who will now play Portsmouth in the play-off semi-finals in a bid to reach League One.

Tyler Harvey and Louis Rooney both scored twice for the hosts, with Curtis Nelson joining them on the scoresheet and leaving Pools fans with nothing to show for their eight-hundred mile round-trip.
