Shrewsbury are close to re-signing striker Andy Mangan - just six months after he left the club.
The forward is primed for a return to Town on loan from Tranmere for the rest of the season.
Shrewsbury are also close to extending the loan of Larnell Cole with the Fulham midfielder having made 19 appearances this season.
"We're looking to freshen the squad up and hopefully there will be a number of arrivals and a few going out of the door," chief executive Matt Williams told the Shropshire Star.
"The Andy Mangan deal should get done in the next few days as will, hopefully, Larnell Cole.
"We've got the paperwork through for Cole and talks remain ongoing but we're confident we'll extend his loan for the rest of the season."
Mangan scored 10 goals in 22 games for Shrewsbury last season as they were promoted from Sky Bet League 2 but moved to Vanarama National League side Tranmere after his contract expired in the summer. He has scored seven goals in 16 starts for Rovers this term.
