Shrewsbury Town have handed a trial to Kane Smith, Sky sources understand.
The 20-year-old right-back was Hitchen Town's Player of the Year last year, playing 57 times in all competitions.
He also scored seven goals and provided 12 assists, and helped the Southern League Premier side keep 20 clean sheets on the way to the play-offs.
Other clubs have expressed an interest but Smith is keen to play regular first-team football and it is understood the Shrews will make a decision on whether to offer the young full-back a contract.
