Former Blackburn boss keen on Rovers role

Sky Sports understands Paul Ince has thrown his hat into the ring for the vacant managerial post at Bristol Rovers. The Pirates parted company with Paul Buckle last week and the search for his successor is underway. Numerous names have been offered as possible candidates, but the post remains unfilled. Sky Sports suggested over the weekend that Sean O'Driscoll was in line to take the reins, but it is understood that he has turned the job down.

Promotion

Ince, though, is keen and is seeking a return to management after nine months away from the dugout. His last position came at Notts County, but he parted company with the League One outfit in April 2011. He has previously worked with Macclesfield Town, the MK Dons and Blackburn Rovers. During his days with the Dons he led the club to promotion out of League Two, and Rovers would be looking for him to repeat that trick if they offer him their post.
