Rochdale defender Jim McNulty has extended his contract with the club.

McNulty had a year remaining on his existing deal, but has put pen to paper on a fresh two-year contract to keep him at Spotland until the summer of 2019.

The 32-yearold told the club's official website: " I am very happy at the football club and I'm very happy working under the current management staff.

"When I heard that the gaffer had signed a long-term contract, I was keen to be a part of what we've got at this club for a little longer.

"I've done two full seasons here and it feels like we've achieved something new or broken a record each year. It has been a highly successful period for all of us so long may it continue."
