Wanderers sign hot-shot striker from Posh

Wycombe have secured the signing of striker Scott Rendell from Peterborough for an undisclosed fee. The prolific marksman joins the Wanderers after passing a medical and penning a three-year contract with the club. The 6ft 1in striker is a proven goalscorer and he arrives at Adams Park with an impressive record, with 59 goals in 120 starts throughout his career, which has seen the striker hit the back of the net on a regular basis for the likes of Cambridge and Torquay. Blues boss Gary Waddock told the club's official website: "He's another good addition to the group. He will add competition to the striking department, where we have a number of good forwards.

Confident

"He's a proven goalscorer at this level, but he has also scored at a higher level. He had a successful loan period at Torquay last season. "I'm confident with the way we play and the amount of chances we create he will score goals here." The 23-year-old struggled to break into the Posh first-team and he returned to Cambridge on loan, scoring 15 goals in 27 games. He continued to score goals last season on loan at Torquay, netting 12 times in 28 starts. A fee in the region of £50,000 has reportedly been agreed for the player, who still had two years to run on his contract at London Road.
