Goalkeeper Adam Collin has become John Sheridan's first signing as Notts County manager.

Sheridan, who was appointed the Magpies boss at the end of May after leaving Oldham, has brought in Collin on a two-year contract after the 31-year-old was released by Rotherham at the end of last season.

Collin has played in the Championship and Scottish Premiership and Sheridan thinks his experience will be vital for the Magpies.

"He's a very good goalkeeper. He's got great experience. He's had promotions from this division and he's played at a higher level," Sheridan told the club's official website.

"I'm very pleased to get him, I know other clubs were interested in him but Adam has made the decision to come to us. He will be a really good asset for us."

Collin has also played for Aberdeen, Newcastle and Carlisle, and helped Rotherham gain promotion to the Championship in 2014, making 37 appearances during a season that ended with him saving two penalties in the shoot out against Leyton Orient at Wembley in the play-off final.
