Caretaker to stay in charge until the end of the season
Dave Kevan has confirmed he has 'reluctantly' agreed to stay on as Notts County manager until the end of the season.
Kevan has been in charge at Meadow Lance since the December departure of Hans Backe, having previously been the Swede's assistant.
With the League Two club having been the subject of another takeover last week, Kevan has been given the job for the remainder of the campaign.
He said: "I don't want to be manager, but it's a case of carrying on as we are.
"If that takes us to the end of the season then that's what it will be. I will do my best, work as hard as I can and I'm very happy to do that.
"It is a reluctant yes, but I will give it my best and try to look after things."
During his time at the helm, Kevan guided the Magpies to the FA Cup fifth round, where they lost to Fulham after winning at Wigan Athletic in the previous round.
The Magpies are also currently seventh in the League Two table, eight points adrift off the automatic promotion places, but with games in hand on all their rivals.
