Bees could move onto training ground site
Barnet chairman Tony Kleanthous has confirmed the club will consider moving to their training ground in Harrow, as they look for a new home.
The Bees have confirmed they are planning to leave their Underhill ground due to issue with their local council and problems with access.
Chief Kleanthous admits they are now looking at options, which could include moving to the neighbouring borough of Harrow - where the club have recently built a new state-of-the-art training ground.
"We can't find something suitable in Barnet, so we have to cast the net further aside - it has been 17-years dealing with this issue so now is time to move on," Kleanthous told
Sky Sports News.
"We have very good relationship with all other football clubs and other sports organisations, so we will explore those.
"We will also talk with Harrow Council, where we built a new £11million training ground and we also have planning permission for a football league stadium there so we could talk to them about that too."
Time
Kleanthous admits that the time has come for Barnet to give up their fight against the local council.
"The land that the stadium is on is accessed through another piece of land that is council have the free hold of and we have a lease to that, but the council have been very difficult over renewing the lease," he said.
"There is no point arguing they clearly don't want us there.
"Our lease expires in 12-months, so we do have to move out in the summer.
"This is all pretty fresh, a situation that has developed and we will see what comes up.
"The council are trying to bring Saracens into the borough so they clearly want football out and rugby in."
