Dons move clear as promotion race hots up

Milton Keynes Dons returned to winning ways in style with a thumping 5-1 victory away to Bury, opening up an eight-point lead at the summit. Improving Wrexham climbed off the bottom of the table as they stunned second-placed Darlington 2-0. The race for promotion behind Paul Ince's MK Dons is getting tighter by the week, with just six points between second and ninth. Rotherham were beaten at home by promotion rivals Hereford, while Peterborough recorded an impressive victory away to in-form Rochdale. Mansfield are now bottom of the Football League after going down in a five-goal thriller against Brentford.
Accrington 0 Wycombe 2
Goals in either half helped Wycombe move firmly back into the promotion picture in League Two as they saw off Accrington. Scott McGleish opened the scoring in the 13th minute with Leon Knight making sure of all three points 15 minutes from time.
Barnet 0 Morecambe 1
Gary Thompson scored the only goal of the game in the 62nd minute as Morecambe kept up their promotion hopes with victory away to Barnet.
Bury 1 MK Dons 5

Mark Wright grabbed a hat-trick (10, 36 and 68) with Lloyd Dyer (23) and Kevin Gallen (81) also on target for the league leaders. Glynn Hurst pulled one back for the home side one minute from time, but is was barely even a consolation for the shell-shocked Shakers.

Macclesfield 0 Bradford 1
Improving Bradford continued their climb up the League Two table with David Brown scoring the only goal of the game 15 minutes from time.
Mansfield 2 Brentford 3

Jefferson Louis levelled for Billy Dearden's side only for Elder to get on the scoresheet at the right end five minutes from time.
Notts County 1 Grimsby 1
Two goals in the space of three minutes saw the points shared between Notts County and Grimsby at Meadow Lane. Richard Butcher (59) put the Magpies in front, only for Nick Fenton (61) to swiftly restore parity for the Mariners.
Rochdale 0 Peterborough 2
Peterborough closed to within just one point of the automatic promotion places with an impressive victory away to in-form Rochdale. George Boyd broke the deadlock for Darren Ferguson's side 12 minutes into the second period before Aaron McLean made sure of the points in the 76th minute.
Rotherham 0 Hereford 1
Hereford claimed a crucial victory away to promotion rivals Rotherham with Gary Hooper the hero for the Bulls with his strike five minutes before the interval.
Shrewsbury 1 Lincoln 2
