Silkmen set to pay tribute to Alexander

Rochdale will aim to continue their march towards the League Two title when they travel to play-off hopefuls Shrewsbury, while Bury visit Macclesfield, who will pay tribute to Keith Alexander. Lincoln and Hereford meet on Friday night before Saturday sees Chesterfield host Port Vale, Rotherham face Dagenham & Redbridge and Northampton welcome bottom-of-the-pile Darlington. Bradford take on Aldershot, Morecambe and Grimsby meet, Barnet and Accrington face one another, Crewe make the long trip to Torquay and Burton Albion see Cheltenham arrive. With Bournemouth not facing Notts County until Monday, Keith Hill's Rochdale, who were surprisingly held by Lincoln last time out, could extend their lead at the top of the table to nine points if they defeat Shrewsbury at the Prostar Stadium. Macclesfield will pay their respects to Alexander before the match against Bury at Moss Rose in what will be the Silkmen's first home game since the death of their former manager. Struggling Lincoln could move level on points with 18th-placed Hereford if they pick up a victory in Friday night's match at Sincil Bank. Chesterfield lost at play-off rivals Notts County in midweek and John Sheridan will want a response against Port Vale at Saltergate. Rotherham sit in sixth position after back-to-back defeats and will know their hopes of promotion will be under threat if Dagenham & Redbridge move to within two points with a win. Rock-bottom Darlington earned a draw at Bury on Tuesday, but they are still 15 points from safety and hopes are not high ahead of an away game with eight-placed Northampton. Peter Taylor's Bradford will hope to address inconsistency when play-off-chasing Aldershot arrive at Valley Parade, while Barnet and Accrington will do battle for mid-table pride. Grimsby could move to within one point of safety if they defeat Morecambe and Cheltenham lose at Burton Albion. Torquay are nine points clear of the drop zone, but will know they cannot lose concentration if they want to avoid a nervous end to the season as they prepare to welcome 15th-placed Crewe.
