Cherry exit

Meanwhile, goalkeeping coach Steve Cherry has left the League Two outfit. The former Derby and Notts County keeper joined the Silkmen in 2008 but is now keen to find a role closer to his Nottingham home. He is also set to undergo an operation but says he thoroughly enjoyed working with Macclesfield goalkeepers Jon Brain and Jose Veiga. Cherry said: "I really enjoyed my time at the club and will miss it. I've met some good people and in the likes of Jon and Jose I have been fortunate to work with two talented and committed keepers. "I love being involved in the game and my long-term aim is to take up a similar role, perhaps closer to my home in Nottingham. "However, in the short-term I am shortly to undergo a minor operation that hopefully will resolve an ongoing health issue. Given that it made sense to take a short break from the game."
