Clare to miss Chester return
Boston striker Daryl Clare could play for the reserves as he is unable to face Chester.
Boston United striker Daryl Clare is due to have a run-out in the reserves as he is unable to face former club Chester City this weekend.Due to a clause in Clare's contract, he is prevented from lining up against Chester in the League Two tussle on Saturday.
Clare returned to York Street from Chester on a two-and-a-half year deal in November and the terms of the transfer mean he will miss out against his old club.
With the forward having been forced to sit out last Saturday's game against Cheltenham due to a virus, Clare could play for Boston's reserves on Wednesday.
"Daryl Clare was suffering from a virus on Saturday and he won't be able to play any part against Chester City this week due to a clause in the deal that brought him back to Boston in November," said Boston manager Steve Evans.
"It is only the one game that he will be forced to sit out and it would have been the same if Chester had played Boston in the season that Daryl was sold to Chester.
"He will be a big player for us next season and hopefully he'll be well enough to play for the reserves at York Street on Wednesday evening against Darlington."
Clare has scored two goals in 15 appearances for Boston since he rejoined the club in the autumn.
